Dancing alone in your room is all about moving your body because you can, because you want to connect with your favorite music and you know it’ll make you feel great. GIFs, at their essence, are also about moving just to move: they can express a few moments of motion in a repetitive, entrancing way that still pictures and true videos are unable to. I think these qualities make GIFs the best medium to experience some else going through the meditative process of zoning out and throwing their limbs around to the tune of their favorite song. Below, some groovy ladies share their favorite songs to dance to and GIFs showing the ways they like to jam out.
Adriana – “I’d Rather Dance With You” by Kings of Convenience
Megan – “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon
Lauren – “Never Be Like You” feat. Kai by Flume
Sydney – “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire
Myka – “Chandelier” by Sia
Rachael – “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE
Katie – “Jungle Boogie” by Kool and the Gang
Alex – “Boy Problems” by Carly Rae Jepsen
